Travis, Sheila, and I drove to Brampton to see our friends in Johnny Truant, The Cancer Bats, and the Gorgeous play the night after the Toronto show at The Reverb. When we arrived we realized none of us were on the guestlist, nor did we intend on paying the $15 to get in, so we made some calls and Scott from Cancer Bats met us outside so we could think of a plan to get us in.

Normally this kind of thing is really simple, someone from the band walks up to the door and says "hey they are with me" and you all walk in. Not quite this time. I guess at some point throughout the night before we got there, Bailey from the Cancer Bats had plugged his cellphone into the wall to charge it before the show, and the owner of the club apparently wasnt to pleased with the fact that he was racking up his hydro bill and he tore his charger out of the wall. Bailey thought he was just joking so he plugged it back in right after and I guess this guy just wasnt at all happy with that and had him removed from the club. Shortly after he was informed that if he kicked out the bass player of the headling band there would be a problem, so Bailey was allowed back in on the condition that he not plug in his cell phone.

Scott figured out a way to get us in by saying Travis was their tour manager, I was their photographer, and Sheila was one of their girlfriends. Well, Hype Nightclub, they take security seriously, I actually felt like I was going to some kind of swank small town Ontario dance club for a second, then i remembered I was only going to a Cancer Bats show. After everyone recieved their pat downs and bag checks we got stamps from this huge black dude at the door, who two seconds later when I went to walk through the door grabbed my arm and asked me if I had a stamp yet, completely forgetting that he has just put it on me himself.

Oh well, the show was awsome, it sucks we missed Johnny Truant though. Cancer Bats, The End, and the Gorgeous were all amazing to watch and the kids were going mental.
